Vietnam e-commerce forum was held in January 2007 in Hanoi. It draw Vietnamese and world’s corporations attention to join. In this forum, many delegates suggested to establish a professional association that can gather corporations, organizations and individuals working in e-commerce.
Then, some organizations, corporations and individuals positively lobbied to establish Vietnam E-commerce Association. On 25 June, 2007, Ministry of Home Affairs issued Decision establishing Vietnam E-commerce Association.
E-Commerce Association of Vietnam (Vecom) is a non-governmental organization. Vecom’s memberships are corporations, organizations and individuals directly deal with e-commerce or apply e-commerce for operating business, or research or provide e-commerce services. Vecom operates on a voluntary basis and non-profit, for the purpose of gathering, uniting, cooperating, supporting and protecting all members to develop e-commerce in Vietnam. Vecom activities all over Vietnam, according to the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
