With support of Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, The Japan Business Association in Vietnam (JBAV) was established in December 1992 with name of “The Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Hanoi”. Its initial number of members was 26 companies. Then the name was changed to “Japan Business Club in Hanoi”, in September 1998 was officially recognized by Vietnam Government as “The Japan Business Association in Vietnam” and has been operating up to now. JBAV has 1550 member companies (data as of April 2016), in combination with: Japanese Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City, Japan Business Association in Da Nang and also Hai Phong Department.
Our operation aim is to promote friendship exchanges between members, through them relationship between Japan and Vietnam is enhanced in terms of culture, trade as well as economic cooperation promotion. Viewing features found from other countries throughout the world, apart from specific role of Chamber of Commerce & Industry to aggregate recommendations relating to policies, based on considering of current situation of the host country, JBAV also plays a role of Association of the Japanese people in Vietnam.
